Fishing Report 5 October 2021
Weather for the Week.
Today it is forecast that the wind
will be blowing but it is not and a good day for fishing, the remainder of the
week will be good in the morning.
Lagoon
We are hearing of interesting catches
been made and it seems the nondi cob are back, if you get one you get a few,
good size spotted grunter and river bream have been caught fishing with big
baits seem to be doing the trick with the incoming tide in the afternoon
producing the most catches.
Surf
At the moment we are starting the
closed Shad closed season and for this time of the year normally lots of shad
are being caught but this year for the last couple of months shad have been
very scarce and the most common edible been caught are snapper cob and plenty
of them, there are also a lot of very small squaretail cob and dusky cob which
is a good thing but no matter how tempting it is to keep undersize cob please
do the right thing and put them back.
Ski boat
On the flip side the guys who managed
to go for a quick session caught fish so it seems they back on the bite after a
spell of slow fishing. Sarel went out yesterday and did some bottom fishing
they caught fish soldiers, slinger and cob in the main and lost a big Daga we
think maybe the guy was pulling the fish to hard and the hook tore out.
