Due to the formation of new or existing sand banks that have grown in the fishing areas around the Slipway and main car park it may be better to try float fishing, the siltation made no difference to the big cabs and on Sunday it seems the crabs were the most common species caught, the beach was full of Cob yesterday so they should make their way back into the river now that the flooding is gone and the water is not so muddy.

Fishing was tough over the weekend due to the side wash, however our group got stuck into Cob and lots of them one Snapper Cob more than made size however the biggest Cob was a Squaretail of 47cm and the rest were around 20cm, all went back to grow some more. Strangely no small sharks or shad were caught while I was down there. I am going back again after the report to see if we can get a monster Shad.

Ski Boat.

One boat went game fishing and got a severe taxing, the head of the Couta weighed 5.7 Kg so how big was the whole fish. The bite was square as opposed to round so how big was that shark. The boat did manage to get some Bonito as well but no more Couta On the bottoms side some very big Cob and Slinger were caught with the odd Rockcod, the fishing was slow all day but at least the boats that went out did not come back dry.
