The species count when fishing the lagoon is still high , Garfish made their appearance over the weekend and some were very big by their standards, River Snapper are still been caught and Shad were back in the lagoon at various times but mainly in the river mouth area. The fishing clinic is still going ahead this afternoon as numbers will be well below the 100 limit in fact probably around 25 people. I am going to try catch a Shad.

This weekend was up and down fishing wise as the guys targeting big fish did not get any that I know of as the Shad was quiet thick and taking the baits, Some Spotted Pompano were caught together with those big Puffer fish. One big Kob ie making size was landed south of the main beach during the day. The weather for the next few days looks good for fishing but on Thursday we have a front coming through so to fish just before it hits will lead to good fishing. I can’t think of anywhere better to self-Isolate than standing on the beach in the fresh air and sunshine. A big Kob of around 45kg was caught at Amatikulu on Friday night not sure if it was released.

Ski boat

Lots of trawling hours were put in over the weekend but the bulk of the catches were made comprising of bottoms and mainly Kob. The tax man also played his part one was so greedy he took have a nice big Kob then had the Pinky for desert. It seems that only Kob were caught this weekend with very little else.
