Weather for the weekend.
Currently it is nice and hot with a NE blowing, be spot for surf fishing will be Port Durnford.
NE blowing all day gusting 14 at its peak, dropping in the afternoon. Max temp 29. Barometer 1016 dropping to 1012. Wave height 1.6 going to 1.4m by early evening, period 11.
We have all the winds in one day but nothing hectic, gusting 15 first thing then dropping to 3kts, NE followed by W, SW, W and finely a NE. Max temp 27. Wave height 1.5m period 10.
Still fishing well with a huge variety to choose from, best baits are Red Eye and Bait prawn, target species are Dusky Cob, don’t be surprised if a little flatty picks you up.
Garrick are still hanging around the mouth, if you don’t have a boat fish the channel from Port Durnford side, some nice size Black Tips will pester you there. From the main beach it is still mainly Shad and small Cob that you will catch as well as Diamonds and the odd Honey, big Sharks seem to have gone down South for the Sard run.
21 Species this weekend so Richards Bay will be very busy, with the mouth nice and deep maybe better to launch from here, Sunday looks the best of the weekend for Deep-sea. Last weekend game fish were caught of Richards Bay so don’t discount them not being in the bay. Bottoms should be easier to boat as the water is coloring nicely.
