Lagoon

The lagoon out fished all 3 categories of fishing although there was not much action fish were landed or boated but not in big numbers, the most unusual catch was a Honey Comb Ray on a Rapala most of us have not heard of that happening. The biggest fish we know about was a fairly good size Pick handle Barracuda, they don’t get very big in the estuarine system as they go out to sea just before reaching maturity.

Surf

Zululand Ladies fished Nationals last week in East London, they were the strongest team as they had had to prop the table up or putting it in another way they managed to fish their way into last spot however the great news is Susan Breedt (She fishes for our local club) finished 8th overall and was selected to fish for the Presidents team, well done that lady. Fishing over the weekend was very slow as the water warmed up and a very few catches were made, an interesting catch was a massive Silago. There is a report of an Angler fighting a fish for over a hr. on the main beach on Saturday does anyone know what was landed?

Ski boat

Even the boats had a tough time over the weekend however Action got some Tuna and a nice size Dorado while Greg managed a 29.5kg Couta. Gert and his crew managed 2 Rockcod while Merriman fishing closer in got a nice Yellow Belly, Santer, Slinger, Scotsman and a Big Eye Kingfish. The warm water seems to affect the Ski boats as well, even Elih fishing on a double fish ski battled and had no luck.
