Fishing Report 21 August 2020
Weather for the Weekend.
Weather for a change over the weekend
is on our side and it would be rude not to take advantage of it, the sea has
also settled after the storms earlier in the weekend.
Lagoon
The cabins in the park are open for
bookings but the camp site is still closed for the time being, the park is
awaiting head office to give the green light to open. With the big Spring tides
early in the week the lagoon is still filling up to levels higher than normal
hereby increasing the areas for fish to feed in and improving you chances to catch.
Yesterday Barry caught a lot of Grunter of which some made size, nice to see big
Grunter are back, long may it last. Catches of River Bream and River Snapper
are been made and decent sizes at that. The crabs are hungry again and remember
you can catch 3 a day with a rod and reel.
Surf
After a week of big seas and strong side
wash the surf has settled and we good to go this weekend with no fishing going
on during the week it is difficult pick hot spots but Port Dunford, Main Beach
in front of the Siyayi, Banks and Emboyeni must produce fish, Port Dunford will
be my first choice because Garrick, Kob and Diamonds will be found there.
Ski boat
We are still have very high tides in
the lagoon so there should be plenty of water for launching, sea conditions
over the weekend don’t look too bad. The club will be open from Wednesday
evening next week as normal however the protocols and numbers are as per covid
rules i.e. no more than 50 people including staff will be allowed on the premises,
we will be allowed to braai, wash boats etc. Look forward to seeing everybody
there, this Wednesday the Duck club and Rock and Surf Angling Club are having a
braai in the lapa area, anybody is welcome to join, I think the following
Wednesday is the Ski boat fisherman braai again it will open to all.
