Lagoon.
After a whole day and night of
rain the river turned very muddy and fishing was slow, however those that
ventured out yesterday after the rain subsided had fun although fishing was
slow, conditions are improving through the week and we expect to be on the fish
on Saturday morning when our “Kiddies “have their first comp, starting at 9 finishing
at 11. Entry fee R10.00 per angler. Lots of prizes for them to win and not just
tackle but Pizzas, Milkshakes etc.
Surf.
The wind on Friday turned the water on its head with massive swell
bringing weed and a Side wash, by Sunday conditions had improved so much even
the color of the water was just right and the few that went down to the beach
were rewarded with some edibles but the big fish were elusive for some reason.
Fishing is going to be good in the surf right through till the weekend. Bait
sales are picking up…always a good indication.
Ski Boat
Most of the locals went to Cape Vidal for the Cape to Rio comp , the
comp lasted 2 days however the weather played havoc and fishing was done by
midday on Friday with no fishing done on Saturday, 10 Couta were caught with
the biggest being 9.8kg. However much to everyone’s surprise Sunday morning saw
a calm day and calm seas and some “Social fishing “ was done and more Couta were
caught, no news of anybody who fishing the local waters. This week will be a
good time to go practice for the Hi-Q Couta classic hosted by the Umlalazi Ski
Boat club. With better weather this weekend it must be game on.
News from the Shop.
On Wednesday we are looking forward to taking a Disable person fishing
on the charter, what is quiet interesting is they have been turned down before,
to our thinking if they want to fish why not.
