Lagoon
The lagoon is nice and full and the
fish seem to be hungrier than in the sea, the water is a lot cooler than it has
been, probably due to the rain we had. Some smash ups and good runs were had on
the weekend and anglers reported catching several different species, one boat
recorded 9 different species if you add a Puffer and a Crab with one claw.
Surf
Fishing was no so great over the
weekend, Friday’s wind caused a strong side wash for most of Saturday only
calming down on Sunday, there were anglers at the banks and at various spots in
the area but no decent catches were made. Seems like it was only rats and mice
caught.
Ski boat
Yesterday some guys went out for a
fish, Nanook managed a few Tuna far out while the Rock and surf angling guys
went out on Chukka looking for bait for their comp next weekend the trip was
not very successful so they resorted to scratching for some bottoms, like all
the boats fishing close in they struggled. Looking ahead this week seems like
Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days to go out. Amatikulu Ski Boat club are
holding their annual Cape to Rio competition at the end of the week, let us
hope the weather holds for them.
