Lagoon.
The lagoon is
very full at the moment coupled with the spring tide makes fishing in the local
spots very difficult, maybe it is time to go fish in Dunn’s pond and look for
other spots where you think fish might hide or explore looking for food in areas
they don’t normally get to. There is a report of a croc at the slipway be wary
of these guys as they are also been displaced by flooded waters. Smelly baits
will work in the muddy water, don’t go to the extremes of leaving your sards in
the sun (when we have it) for 3 days, your neighbors will not be so friendly and
the invite for braais will stop.
Surf.
There is a side
wash and weed at the main beach because the Siyayi river burst through to the
sea on Thursday night, unfortunately it pulled a lot of fish with it and Barbels,
Tilapia and a crocodile were washed into the sea, the croc managed to make its
way back up river but the Barbel and Tilapia died and washed up on the beach. Suggested
places to fish over the weekend would be anywhere but the main beach even a
trip to Mboyeni will be better the weed will settle over the next few days,
then fish the mouth area, when the Siyayi is open that is the best place to
catch Rockcod.
Ski Boat
Frans reports
there is a log on the portside as you leaving the mouth bear that in mind as is
partially submerged so look for it before attempting the surf. Sarel took Kiru
out for a quick trip on Tuesday afternoon in the rain and was rewarded with a
Tuna caught in the area of Yellow Rope
as it was boated they headed home soaking wet. Weather for the weekend
does not look good for fishing at all.
Next events.
Due to incumbent weather on Monday the
family day is postponed to the 4Jan 2020.
