Lagoon
The lagoon seemed quit with no reports
of major catches been made, there was some action but mainly juveniles
fattening themselves up. We are expecting a lot of rain this week which
together with Spring tide on the way will mean an increase in water levels
which will help flush the mouth out and hopefully deepened the channels between
the mouth and the stone wall.
Surf
Fishing this week is going to be tough
unless one likes fishing in the rain, we coming up to spring tides so fishing
the turn of the low will enable you to get onto and over the mid bank where
most of us can’t get to. Yesterday Zululand Rock and Surf Angling Clubs
descended on our village to fish the annual Turkey Trot the boundary was from
the Umlalazi River to the Amatikulu River. Fishing was slow with many anglers
down scaling to scratch just to get on the board. Our club finished 7th
overall out of the 14 clubs entered. Susan was our top angler coming 2nd
overall in her class, beaten by 0.2 points and won another prize for catching
the 2nd biggest edible resulting in her walking away with 2
chickens. Look at the picture of the surf today for those who fished the weekend in that side wash will not belive it can settle so fast.
Ski boat
I know of 2 boats that went out, Gert
headed for Richards Bay and planned to fish the Dawson’s area looking for
Dorado while Stefan and Boela went to the wreck yesterday, let us hope they
were successful.
