Lagoon.
Lots of action again in the lagoon with River bream been the most
species caught as well as some Pickhandle Barracuda. Fishing the Stone wall
area seems to be producing the biggest fish and can be accessed from the Port Dunford
side via the old Shangri-La Resort. In a few weeks’ time we can start to expect
the first Garrick of the season they have been caught as early as May,
something to think about.
Surf.
The surf was dead quiet on Friday and Saturday and I do not know anyone
who tried to fish there on Sunday, This week the weather does not look good for
surf fishing as with all the rain coming with some strong wind from the South
we can expect a strong side wash, leaving the lagoon your best bet for fishing.
Ski Boat.
Umlalazi Couta classic got off to a great start with good weather
forecast for day and just over 100 anglers on the water, as to be expected most
boats stayed out for as long as possible as incumbent weather was forecast on
the Sunday. Quite a lot of Couta were caught as well as other game fish and
bottoms. On Sunday the competition was called off and prize giving was held at
11am. A Big thanks to the sponsors who made this big event happen.
