Lagoon.
Seems to be the best place to fish, by now one would expect the fish to
be full, I saw pictures of 2 very nice fish, a big Squaretail Cob and River Snapper.
Species landed as reported in the shop, Shad, Pickhandle Barracuda, River
Bream, Javelin Grunter, Big Eye Kingfish, Spotted Grunter to name a few. A
Diamond Ray was caught to the left of the main carpark of just over a meter.
Surf.
This weekend the surf zone was very slow although some fish were caught they
were far and few between. Port Dunford area produced some nice Shad on Friday morning,
the main beach saw some action on Saturday morning for 1 group of anglers but
apart from that it was very quiet.
Ski Boat.
Fishing was very slow over the weekend in our local waters, even out at
high point not much was happening. Our Charter that went out yesterday
struggled to catch fish, they did not see any activity in the water all day
apart from a few tiny flying fish. Even the birds were sitting on the water.
Fishing can and must get better with the Couta Classic coming up.
Next events.
Umlalazi Ski Boat Club Couta classic 7-8 April 2018.
