Weather for the week.
Monday
Cloudy for the remainder of the day with a Light Breeze of 3 m/s from
the S. Max Temp 24.
Wave height 1.8m period 10.

Tuesday
Sunny skies and Chevrolet coming from the N on a Light Breeze at 3m/s
swing to a ENE at 5 m/s Max temp 28. Wave height 1.5 period 11.

Wednesday
Another sunny day forecast with a moderate NNE at 6m/s swinging to a gentle
breeze NE by the early afternoon. Max temp 29. Wave height 1.6 period 14.

Thursday
Again a nice sunny day forecast with a gentle breeze from the N swinging
to a NNE at 6 m/s. Max temp 31 . Wave height 1.7 period 15.

Lagoon.
River Bream must be the greediest fish ever, they seem to be at the bait
all day long and the chances of filling them up with bait seems impossible as
they just keep on feeding. River Gurnard seem to be the same as readily feed on
the bottom and take artificials. Not much else happened I think with all rain
making the water look like mud the rest of the sane minded fish headed out to
sea.
Surf.
Fishing was very poor over the weekend due to the muddy water on Friday and
Saturday coupled with a strong side wash. Nothing to report there. Ditto this
last weekend. News just in, as told to me by an informant “The guys were
struggling to land a shark at Port Dunford the other day so they fetched a
bakkie and tied the rod to the bull bar, it was a 3 liter bakkie they tried to
reverse the bakkie up the beach to drag the shark out, the pressure plate over
heated and gave way so they had to slog it away”. I did make contact with the
angler and he assures me the pressure plate did give him problems going home as
his caravan is too heavy for the bakkie when going up the mountains……….. the
jury is out on this one.
Ski Boat.
The Report for the boat Koekoes remains unchanged……….On Saturday Nanook
to a change with the weather and was rewarded with Couta, Tuna, Dorado and some
little Bonnies. Guess who has bait lined up for the Couta Classic. On Sunday
our charter went out and when I enquired about how the fishing went, this was
the reply “ @#$%”. The good news is they did manage a few bottoms but no “tops”
as were refer game fish as. The other boats that managed to scratch some fish
caught mainly Cob and Slinger.

Next monthly mug will be on the 1 April at the Umlalazi Ski Boat Club.

Kiddies fishing clinic on Saturday 31 March from 14H00 to 16 H00 in the
main car park.
