Lagoon.

Although the lagoon’s structure has change somewhat there are still spots to fish from in the picnic areas. The main catches are of River Bream from the main car park area, fish to the right hand side as the water is deeper there. A nice fat juicy River Bream was landed in the main car park area and was hastily released as the anglers deemed it to be full of eggs, they are correct as this species of fish breeds in the winter, well done those anglers. We have kiddie’s clinic on Saturday afternoon from 14H00 to 16H00. One prize up for grabs, a nice river rod combo.

Surf.

There are still those big Shad about and plenty of Black Tip Reef Sharks, Spinner Sharks and Cob to keep you busy. There are also big flat fish, yesterday I broke my line and what we thought might have been a big Honey Comb Ray it took off at a rate of knots, we think the slide wrapped around the leader knot. We had a small Shark Taxed, we slid the head out and had a short run on the head but did not managed to set the hooks. We were fishing with small Mac’s and Sugar Macs for the flat fish. The water colour is very good, just being off clean, the weather for the weekend does not look too bad.

Ski Boat.

There was a sighting of a flare been sighted in the bay, it was not Unleashed that released the flare, Mark and his Crew are safe, boats do come into our waters from Richards Bay. The NSRI were informed and we are not sure what the outcome was. Our charter is out at the moment and conditions are good for a day’s fishing as is tomorrow. The water colour in the bay is good so hopefully some game fish will come to the party.
