Lagoon.

Busy place this week as you can see by the pictures young Wesley had a ball in so saying he does work hard for his fish and by changing tactics and his approach, what more can I say the pictures tell a story. It would be nice to see him and Bobby in action. Bobby expressed an interest to join our next Clinic and he will be a most welcome guest. After the rain we had the river is still a bit muddy, try using a glow stick to attract fish to your bait and fish with at least a no 1 hook.

Surf.

Strange old place the Banks is, Sunday morning a 191cm Giant Guitar fish was landed on the outgoing tide and when a different group of guys arrived for the incoming tide they got nothing, said the water was too warm. My theory is that one low tide the water is shallower and it warms up and this water is been pushed in to the front channel by the tide. In front of the banks it should be cooler. Anyway Shad appeared earlier this week despite the weather and by yesterday they were gone just like that, they are about and very good live bait for various predators, don’t discount GT.

Ski Boat.

Last Saturday some game fish were caught but Sunday produced an abundance of bottom fish with no game fish been boated although conditions were good for them. Now here is a strange story, normally as the night draws longer and the bottoms of glasses are well studied the fish get bigger and bigger and bigger, not in this case, I heard young Ross caught a 16kg Couta ( nice fish) but by about 9pm it had shrunk to 10kg’s………… The main species of bottoms caught were Square Tail cob together with a few Slinger, Cave Bass and the odd Rockcod.
